This week I want you to develop three charts using Microsoft word 365.  I am including a video in case you have not used this program before to make a chart.

As you know, in research there is a lot of data collection, but what do we do with all that data once it has been collected.  Charts are a great resource to give a more visual depiction of the information obtained in your research.

The first chart will be a pie chart-this will include how you typically spend your day split up in 24 hours.  So the entire pie will consist of the 24 hour day.  I want a minimum of 5 different areas established in your pie.  For example, Sleep-homework-job-school-personal care-hanging with friends.  Each portion of the pie must include the activity you do during that time and the approximate amount of time in hours in each section as well.

The second chart you will need to complete is a bar graph with the following information.

A survey of residents in a long-term care facility were asked about their top three favorite activity that is sponsored by the facility.  Here are the results from the survey.  Please provide a name for the graph and set up the graph with the following variables.

Activity

Number of residents

Play Bingo

45

Scenic drives

53

Music

99

Movie and Popcorn

44

Conversation with students

66

Exercise

22

Shopping

37

The third one to complete is a Line Chart.  This is used frequently in a qualitative study, particularly in the a single subject study.  You are establishing a baseline, changing variables and using the line chart as a visual depiction of any changes and how much to assist in deciding if your changes have been effective or not.  Please use the information in the chart below for your line graph.

Grade Level

Math Score %

7th

72

8th

75

9th

81

10th

80

11th

83

12th

91

Find the range in Values-There are two sets of values, what is the greatest value for the first set (grade level) and what is the last value, do the same with the second set.

Determine the scale-The Vertical scale must ALWAYS  start at 0, the horizontal scale does not have that same perimeter.  So your vertical perimeter is going to be the Math Score, your horizontal would be the grade level.

Label the graph

Plot the points and connect them

Give the graph a title

You can choose to use any program you wish, you are not required to use microsoft word to complete this assignment.
