Spirituality: Having coherent beliefs about the higher purpose and meaning of the universe; knowing where one fits within the larger scheme; having beliefs about the meaning of life that shape conduct and provide comfort. Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence: Noticing and appreciating beauty, excellence and/or skilled performance in various domains of life, from nature to art to mathematics to science to everyday experience. Fairness: Treating all people the same according to notions of fairness and justice; not letting feelings bias decisions about others; giving everyone a fair chance. Honesty: Speaking the truth but more broadly presenting oneself in a genuine way and acting in a sincere way; being without pretense; taking responsibility for one’s feelings and actions. Humor: Liking to laugh and tease; bringing smiles to other people; seeing the light side; making jokes.   For my future career choice, I am going to be a registered nurse. I can use these strengths in multiple ways with this career choice. For spirituality, I am very confident that I am meant to help people and this confidence could possibly be comforting to others. For appreciation of beauty and excellence, I can apply this because I will be more likely to focus on the positive aspects of being a nurse rather than the negative. For example, I will be more focused on the beauty of saving and caring for somebody rather than focus on the sad reality that they are sick or injured. Hopefully this will be a comforting trait to the patients who are scared and struggling to see the bright side of things. For fairness, it is very important to me that I treat everybody with respect and kindness. No matter my patient’s nationality, religion, sexuality; they will be treated with pure respect and equality. This is a very important strength for those in healthcare to have. For honesty, it is also very important that those in healthcare are truthful, loyal, and integrous. If someone is going to be taking care of you and trying to help you, you want them to be honest and truthful. Lastly, it could definitely make somebody’s hard day a bit brighter if they are surrounded by people with good humor. Making light of dark situations can bring a lot of positivity and faith to a person’s mindset!   A few strengths I would like to improve on are social intelligence and hope. I struggle with my confidence at times in social events and I can be quite shy. This is not a good trait for a nurse and I could definitely work on that.Social SciencePsychology
