Discussion 1 : To address the situation at hand, my first order of business would be conducting an investigation myself, or potentially delegating the task to a supervisor, to review and pinpoint when communication became hostile to note who the person or persons were that wrote the emails, who was conversing. In most practices, the representative communicating on behalf of an enterprise leaves a signature or electronic stamp for the purpose of maintaining professionalism at the conclusion of their message, so locating the agent in the Asian research collective should be relatively clear. A meeting would be coordinated with the research center closest to my vicinity, hypothetically being the United States, if viable, while also repeating this through an executive overseas, to gather information on the contrasting perspectives, and be reported to me for evaluation. Additionally, I would hire cultural experts for the two centers to brief those who took offense to something implied or expressed via email, assuming of course that this was sparked by a misunderstanding and was not intentional. Lastly, I would organize the facts and document the timeline of this dissension, our approach to dismantling the conflict, and utilize this experience as an opportunity for expansion of the knowledge our centers have, the knowledge of our employees, by preparing presentations and video supplements to not only expose employees to foreign customs but to familiarize them with the dissimilarities so that a repetition of this resource intensive process may be prevented in the future.

My proposition is a bi weekly plan due the thursday before each two week period, which is owned primarily by a supervisor that allows no edits to be made after midnight for each side. A practical, signed agreement between the parties on who will be responsible for which role, what assignment, effective immediately for each center, one that can offer clarity when needed, leaving no ambiguity for who will also be held accountable for a shortfall, along with who should be credited.

Discussion 2:

Hello,

The very first thing that I would do is read through the emails. I do believe that a problem cannot be fixed if the root of the problem is not known. Sometimes problems branch out from other problems and creates a big miss. It is important to know what started it all. I would then understand set down to get to understand the Asian culture better. Things that are of US culture can mean different things for other people. Where it is not a big thing for us it might be a big thing for them. Once I do that, I then begin sharing each culture’s language with the other culture. This should help everyone understand the other a tad bit. I would then give everyone an email about professional communication, email edacity, respect, and guideline moving forward. Also, email will address all issues found and solutions for them, following with a meeting via video required. Then discuss a new method of communication. When you took this job, you understood that this was a requirement, so the meeting is mandatory. This will allow everyone to get back accustomed to using the video as well as continue with the emails and allowing a trial and era for the new way. Employees will be able to leave videos instead of having to video chat. The head of each department will be responsible for video chatting weekly.
