The prospective program that I identified is to create a mental health program that caters to the requirements of kids and teenagers in schools after obtaining comments from the discussion forum. The program will be created to offer students who are having mental health issues early intervention and assistance. The program, the requirements for inclusion in the program, and the reason for the proposed program will all be covered in detail in the next paper. I’ll also go over the two best approaches I’d take to get reliable data to back up the program’s necessity. The school-based mental health program will be created to offer early intervention and assistance to kids and teenagers. To improve mental health outcomes, the program will put a strong emphasis on offering individual and group counseling sessions, psychoeducation, and awareness campaigns. Professionals with training in mental health, such as psychologists, counselors, and social workers, will offer the curriculum. 

The program will be created to meet the various needs of kids and will be customized to meet the needs of each individual school. The school-based mental health program will be created to meet the requirements of young students. All pupils, regardless of their mental health, will have access to the program. However, pupils who are at risk of experiencing mental health issues will be given priority, such as those who have been traumatized, have a family history of mental illness, or have a history of substance misuse. The demand for mental health treatments among kids and teens in schools is rising. 

 

According to research, problems with mental health are a major factor in young people’s disability and mortality (Resiliency & Mental Health Resources, 2023). Studies also demonstrate that early assistance and intervention can enhance mental health outcomes and delay the onset of more serious mental health issues. The planned program will offer students who are already dealing with mental health problems as well as those who are at danger of developing them, much-needed support. Additionally, the program will raise awareness and lessen the stigma attached to mental health issues. I would use focus groups and surveys as two techniques to acquire reliable information to support the creation and implementation of the program. Quantitative information on the frequency of mental health issues among students, their attitudes toward mental health, and their perceived need for mental health services would be gathered through surveys. Teachers, parents, and students would all receive surveys. Focus groups would be used to collect qualitative information about the particular mental health issues that students face, their interactions with mental health services, and their recommendations for enhancing those services (Fazel et al., 2015). The focus groups would include teachers, parents, students, and mental health specialists. 

In conclusion, the school-based mental health program will offer support and early intervention to kids and teenagers. The program will be flexible enough to meet the various demands of kids as well as the unique requirements of each institution. All kids will have access to the program, but those who are already struggling with or at risk of having mental health concerns will receive priority. Focus groups and surveys would be used to get reliable data to back up the program’s need. The program will raise awareness, lessen the stigma attached to mental health issues, and eventually enhance child and adolescent mental health outcomes.

Funding organizations may require a detailed proposal, which often includes a logic model showing the program’s elements.  

Using a logic model, social workers can systematically analyze a proposed new program and how those various elements relate to each other. At the program level, the logic model establishes the connection between the resources needed, the program activities, and the anticipated outputs and outcomes. It may also include ways of measuring success. The logic model can provide a clear picture of the program for all stakeholders—and funding organizations, if applicable.
