In his article, Tileva (2022) states that in recent years, people in between 50-60 years old have had a harder time in finding employment. Discrimination due to age is still prevalent today. Whether it be through getting passed over for a job or even fired. It can be subtly used in the workplace through job descriptions like “fast pace” or “energetic”.The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA) was put in place to protect individuals forty and older from age discrimination. It protects them from discrimination in terms of hiring, promotion, discharge, compensation, privileges, etc. (Age discrimination, n.d.). It is enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. There are many pros and cons to hiring older employees. Berman (2022) wrote that some pros include the vast knowledge and experience older employees have which equals to less money spent on training. Older adults also have a more mature way of handling things and making educated decisions. Along with that, comes a more responsible attitude towards work. Older employees also have more loyalty to their place of work which results in punctuality, regular attendance, and following company policies.Cons can include the decreased likelihood to embrace technological advancements in the company. They have the tendency to be less flexible with the work they have been asked to do. This means they are less likely to adapt to new procedures or changing environments. Older employees may also have more health-related problems and may need more time off for appointments or illness. They also might be restricted to work a certain number of hours compared to the younger worker who usually are able to work longer days. 2. Kelcie said? The product that I decided to look into was furniture, couches, beds, dining tables etc. The target market for this specific area of products is going to be anyone looking for a home. The persona for this primary target market is going to be age, gender, income, interests and even lifestyle. I feel like these persona’s fit with this product because depending on if it a male or female looking for furniture it is going to look differently, depending on the age of the person the style they are looking for is going to look differently, income is going to depend on if someone is looking to finance furniture, interests and lifestyle is going to be another thing to look at because not everyone has the same taste. Older teenagers and even adults are able to buy furniture and depending on their income they might even be able to finance them. All of these things are extremely important and keep in mind when thinking about when trying to sell a product.Social SciencePsychology
