They are also known as directive and nondirective and active or less active to describe this style (Hutchinson, 2016). The type of leadership style will depend on the kind of group it is and the stage that they are in their group dynamic. The autocratic style is known as the authoritarian style of leadership. The autocratic style can be helpful when quick decisions must be made (MasterClass, 2019). The leader is in control of the group, decision-making and the action plan (Hutchinson, 2016). Meanwhile, the democratic is known as the participative leadership style. The leader collaborates and solicits input from each of the team members, considering each person’s opinion before settling on a final decision. This leadership style engages each person in the decision-making process, which can boost group morale, job satisfaction, and engagement (MasterClass, 2019). Finally, the laissez-faire leader takes a passive approach to leadership as they let the group act on its own, providing little direction as needed. Although, there are times that it can be difficult to tell who the leader is, due to blending with the group and may appear to be just another member (Hutchinson, 2016). This leadership model can encourage innovation by empowering self-motivated employees to engage with their own passions and interests (MasterClass, 2019).  In addition, leadership styles such as transactional, charismatic, transformational, servant and bureaucratic styles can be implemented in social or business groups. Transactional leadership is a strategic style approach when trying to achieve specific performance benchmarks and offers incentives for effective performance and penalties or disciplinary action for poor performance. Next, the charismatic leaders rely their personality traits to encourage performance by implementing inspiration, enthusiasm, motivation and high energy culture for performance. Similarly, transformational leadership style is referred to as the style that focuses on constant improvement and transformation to meet performance benchmarks as well as each employee in their teams. However, the servant leaders prioritize the satisfaction of their employees above all else. They believe that the professional and personal fulfillment of their team members will result in a higher quality of work, and servant leaders place the needs of others above their own. Last, bureaucratic leadership style relies on a systemized approach which is highly regulated by company policy and tradition, and sets clearly-defined expectations for their team members to follow (MasterClass, 2019).  It is important to have a variation of leadership styles as they produce different results, and certain people are suited to different styles of leadership (MasterClass, 2019). A leader may start a group with an autocratic style until the team matures enough to become democratic style. With the time being and the experience together, the leader can rely on the group members to take over and become a laissez-faire group if possible (Hutchinson, 2016). For my personality and professionalism maturity, I believe I rely on democratic and laissez-faire by implementing transformational, charismatic and transactional styles to increase high performance as well as personal and professional growth. what can be interpreted from the above?Social SciencePsychology
