Even though my project is not considered appropriate to the MFT Profession, reading Glesne’s But Is It Ethical? Considering What Is “Right” & CHAPTER 7 Finding Your Story: Data Analysis & CHAPTER 8 Crafting Your Story: Writing Up Qualitative Data., It reminded me of what Glesne stated. Researchers use narrative analysis to comprehend how research participants compose story and narrative from their own personal experience. That means that there is a two-fold layer of understanding in narrative analysis. Initially the research participants figure out their own lives through narrative. Then the investigator translates the construction of that narrative! (Glesne, 2015). I understand that Narratives can be obtained from journals, letters, conversations, autobiographies, transcripts of in-depth interviews, focus groups, or other types of narrative qualitative research and then used in narrative research. A lot of my research has traveled and transformed this way as Glesne notes in her book. (Glesne, 2015).

Today has been a scary and horrible day! I suffered a setback. as I sit and await my prognosis. I re-read Glesne’s Becoming qualitative researchers, on Data Analysis because I am drawing closer to it. This chapter helped me to understand what Glesne was saying, when she said that data analysis is a method used by researchers for decreasing information to a story and translating it to obtain perceptions. The data analysis route aids in reduction of a sizable portion of information into lesser pieces, which makes reason. (Glesne, 2015).
Glesne notes that there are 3 important things that take place throughout the data analysis route, which begins with the initial data group. Categorization and summarization collectively give to becoming the succeeding understood process applied for data decline. (Glesne, 2015). It assists in obtaining models and topics in the data for easy-going recognition and connecting. (Glesne, 2015). 3rd and the remaining method are data assessment. Researchers do it in in cooperation with” top-down” or “bottom-up” style. (Glesne, 2015).
on the other hand, (Glesne,2015,) notes that Marshall and Rossman, define data analysis as a untidy, vague, and inefficient, nevertheless, the imaginative and captivating method through which an enormous amount of composure of information is being taken to direction, assembly, and sense. (Glesne, 2015).

In reading Glesne’s Bemoming qualitative researchers, the section on post-positivist incites my focus because I realize that I am burnt out! In this situation, my health is at risk of decline! At what cost though? Will I make it through this course? How can I help myself? Fear strikes again. I will use my resources, including my professor! I think my tenacity and drive brought on my recent medical scare!
According to Glesne, burnout is associated with considerable personal, professional, and communal costs. Regardless of the extensive information documenting danger factors combined with interferences. Glesne asserts that a center backer to this situation is intangible misunderstanding regarding burnout, depicted by raw expectations and an absence of structure intelligibility. (Glesne,2015). I agree! (Glesne, 2015).

I now understand Boyatzis when he said that the thematic analysis is way of saying, every so often that one sees through the medic investigation that may not or do not seem to others, this is even if the same information event, situation, or the same information, is observed to others if they agree with the “inside” the secret, seems virtually enchanted if they are driven by the inside, it seems impracticable. If they disagree with the inside, it appears as a persecutory observation that gates understanding, considerate important moments signal for gains in coding it sign it is something which intern proceeds analysis. The complex analysis travels through these 3 façades of investigation sign topics in life. (Boyatzis, 1998).

Saldana said that coding is an investigative method in which information, in both quantitative formula (such as surveys results) or qualitative formula (such as discussion transcriptions) are characterized to assist scrutiny. (Saldana, 2016).
1 reason of coding is to alter the information into a way appropriate for computer-supported evaluation. This classification of data is an essential stride, for instance, in
formulating information for administering with statistical software. Previous to coding, an explanation structure is clarified. It comprises of codes or tags. (Saldana, 2016). Throughout coding, programmers by hand add codes into files where needed elements are recognized. The coding arrangement guarantees that the codes are inserted reliably through the data set and permits for authentication of earlier identified information. (Saldana, 2016).
Some studies will hire multiple coders performing individually on the similar data. This also reduces the probability of mistakes from coding and is assumed to enhance the trustworthiness of data. (Saldana, 2016).

Saldana gives a pretty good understanding n the advantages coding which includes the following: Some rewards of coding Though at an initial look, coding may appear like a needless and difficult phase among data collection and coming up with results, you might discover that there are many good reasons for devoting a substantial amount of your time on coding. (Saldana, 2016). It signifies the grainy technique that permits crafty and innovative understanding and exploration of information. (Saldana, 2016) Essentially, the coding process establishes a record of your data, which allows one to do the following: 1: Obtain profound, full, and in-depth perceptions into your data. As you code your data, you have to see that as a separate individual sentence and paragraph in your data and make a ruling about what it means. (Saldana, 2016) Only reading, through your data as if it was a hard cover book won’t stop you from skipping possibly additional and shocking data. Hence, coding is a method that gets you to revert to all portions of the data you have gathered, plus those you probably haven’t spotted throughout the real data collection. (Saldana, 2016) This will possibly activate systematic concepts that are not obviously obtained from your automatic careful senses and memories of the data collection actions like observations and interviews. (Saldana, 2016) Designate the data simply available and able to access. (Saldana, 2016) Qualitative experiential piece be capable of frequently continuing over extended periods, throughout which the recall of the data may disappear, consequently requiring admission to the data a significant circumstance for analysis. (Saldana, 2016) Coding types of the data into identified sections, far like folders on one’s computer. This permits faster retrievial to data and permits the researcher to recover it for another examination. Furthermore, it yields mutual work simpler when more than 1 researcher is employing similar information. (Saldana, 2016)

In chapter one of Saldana’s book, Saldana says that any researcher who has the wish to become professional@, doing qualitative analysis, needs to understand that it is essential learn how to code solidly and effortlessly, which is the distinction that other research break in large part of the brilliance of the coding. (Saldana, 2016). Reading this chapter stirred up some much-needed excitement about my project though I am proud of my project on a personal and academic level. Even though I’ve had some failures during the last 3-4 weeks, I am proud of my project because my research is authentic, valuable, and trustworthy. I see that my themes connect to my portrayal of my entire project, even if I’m the only one who believes in it!
