This role required her to work late most evenings, and on weekends, which restricted her spending time with her husband and three children. There were also frequent interstate and international travel commitments which further disrupted her family and social life. She worked in this position from 2018-2020 where she was responsible for developing novel and exciting promotions to sell new/current clothing lines. Due to her success in this role, in 2019 Saskia received SAGFA Industry award for Outstanding Innovation in Marketing and Business. At the time of her breakdown, the company was launching a new clothing line, which Saskia was head of distribution. This led to hospitalisation and eventually a diagnosis of a major depressive episode with comorbid anxiety attributed to occupational burnout. Since this breakdown, Saskia has worked with doctors and psychologists to recover her mental health and develop positive self-efficacy coping strategies.
